On May 16th, after a couple months of background work by Pickleball Canada's Bill MacGregor and Tony Casey, BC Pickleball and PICKLEBALLBC met and agreed "in principle to move forward with 'The Intention to Merge'".
BC Pickleball (Charles Lefaive and Aki Takeda) met with PICKLEBALLBC (Walter Knecht) to discuss similarities, historical achievements and ways to bring together these and other aspects into a single organization for the promotion and development of pickleball in the Province of BC. While there is much work to be done, this bodes well for a unified pickleball approach here in BC and a strong voice within Pickleball Canada. Walter Knecht added: "I hope to be able to keep you apprised of progress achieved from time to time. This may also mean asking for your input and help on various topics as well." The USAPA have announced, in partnership with PickleballTournaments.com, the introduction of a new official tournament 4-digit ratings system. More information here.
